Any new machinery on it's way?

Back on topic, I would love to hire one of these for a day, just to compare to a low end DSLR.

Nope - I can't think of anything I'd prefer ('cept a DBS perhaps - and that will lose £50k just driving it out of the showroom). I'll probably go backwards and get another Caterham next.

Sorry to thread hi-jack BTW.

I'd love a MF DSLR but that money is way too hot for me. D3X out soon - may well make my accountant cringe again. I can't believe 37.5 mp will look any better than my current 12.2mp unless viewed BIG.

Taking Bets?

I am sure you're right actually. I've watched the D3 come down in price (such that I've seen a secondhand one for £2,050 - a new D700 plus a grip must be £1,600 + £250 - so I am saving for a D3) and a D3 is possible or a D3X - even if £3,000 - is less than 20% of the price of this Leica. It's really difficult to see how most of us can justify that sort of outlay (even if I had the money!?!)

So are there any actual reviews of this new Leica, yet???

If I'm going to be esoteric I'll have a Sinar please.

As with hi-fi, if Joe Public has never heard of it then it has to be a winner biggrin
