Pre Cat Temperature Guage

Does anyone know the type and part no of the temperature sender for the Black Pre-Cat Temperature Guage? Doing a dash revamp and the temperature guage seems to be reading about 20 degrees too hot.I think the sensor may have been changed when a previous owner ran the car with Smiths instruments.
