Hi there I bought (yesterday) a 5.0ltr chimaera - hugely impressed but when you put your foot down in third from fairly low revs there is a weird noise, its coming from the centre / rear of the car, the sound is difficult to describe - its as if the wheel quickly rubs against the wheel arch - or as if a rubber cush is rubbing against something, is this normal is it the limited slip just working - or is it a sign that it is definately not working? Does anyone recognise this ?

Could be the golf clubs in the boot??
They do have a lot of drivetrain slack/shunt - if its just a 'short' noise when applying power, could just be the 'box/prop/axle taking up the slack?
If it only happens in third gear, this would suggest that there is something amiss with the gearbox?

Mine does this exact same thing had a look and it appears to be the exhaust vibrating !!
I think the 5ltr's have some flexible doings on the exhaust somewhere. Mine was making a bit of a noise a while back but dealer waved a dead chicken over it and its quiet now!
its not ment to do this so take it to the garage befor something goes pop and your stuck on the M1 waiting to be recovered.bet you it will be raining to.
