Thinking of going next month sometime, wondered if anyone had been and what they thought if so?

Also, is there a dress code?

Thanks

It's a village in Essex - why would there be a dress code?

I went to the Essex Show there in about 1983. No dress code then.

Any help?

Assuming the OP is too lazy to actually make a specific request, too lazy to go to the racecourse website and click 'dress code', this is what it says

Dress Code
We encourage racegoers to dress smartly. Smart casual is recommended. Smart jeans are allowed if worn with a collared shirt. Shorts, tracksuits, collarless t-shirts, training shoes and flip-flops are discouraged and racegoers wearing these items may not be admitted to some bars or enclosures.

But given that it's all evening racing and we're approaching winter, a good coat would probably be the best recommendation. FFS!

Don't expect much. Still lots of work being done and the grandstand is a temporary one, albeit a quite impressive temporary one.

Also, the grandstand is in the middle of the track so you can't see the horses all the way around, you will need to use the big screen to see some of the action.

I've seen a few bands at St.Anne's Castle.
Other than that Gt.Leighs isn't a very exciting place.
Oh, except they've wasted a large amount of land on somewhere for horses to run around.
Race track? Without cars? Pointless.
