Breast Cancer Campaign - Fund Raising
Discussion
Hi All,
I’m taking part in the Worksop ½ Marathon this Sunday 26th October trying to raise at least £1000 for the Breast Cancer Campaign. Having never run anything more than a 10K fun run before this presents quite a challenge for me and I have been training diligently for the last couple of months in preparation. My final training session last weekend was about 8 or 9 miles and I’m hopeful of completing the whole 13.1 miles in under 2 hours and 15 minutes.
I would really appreciate any contribution you care to give in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign - please visit my fund raising page at:

Don’t forget to tick the gift aid box if you are a UK tax payer – that way Breast Cancer Campaign get an additional 28 pence supplement for every pound donated.
Thank you in advance for your help and support. I’ll post again after the race to let you know how everything went and how much was raised.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
Best regards,
Carl

Dear All,
The race is now run and what a day it was for my first ½ marathon, fantastic weather and a beautiful autumn scenic run through Clumber Park. I did really well and came in 494th out of 1337 runners with a time of 1:43:53. (see link below)
It was somewhat disconcerting though when a bloke in a white wedding dress complete with veil came sprinting past me just after the 4 mile marker!
I’d like to take this opportunity to deeply thank everyone who has contributed so far – I’m overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity you have shown and feel privileged to pass on your financial support for such a worthy cause.
For those considering contributing there is still plenty of time to do so, the minimum donation is only £2 and in ticking the Gift Aid box this grows to £2.56; all donations will be gratefully received.
