Got my Cerbi booked in for a service at the above garage tomorrow, and after reading a few threads I'm a little nervous!

Tried Sebring but mat was fully booked (helpful guy) the guy at Offords seem nice as well though, I know the whole 'cherry bomb' incident didn't do them any good, but some recent reviews seem to be good, I do all my own work normaly but need the stamp! I'm normaly in Scotland, but I'm seeing my parents in Peterborough, hence the rush as Dreadnought charge 500+ for a service!

If anyone recently has any good stuff please put it, if negative please mail me (due to the 'no name & shame' rules)

Cheers
Brett

Whereabouts are you at the moment? Scole (at Diss) have a good reputation in the EA region, and according to a friend, they had 6 cerberas in the other week, although there is sometimes a wait to get in i've heard.

500 for a service sounds like good value !
Surely it is worth building a good relationship with a good local co ? Dreadnought are good arent they?

Well I'm down quite a lot to see my parents so it's kind of local.

Droped her off today, seem like a top bunch of guys.

I've had services at Offords on both my Chim and my Cerb and I wouldn't go back.

Something to do with a mix up between customers and supplier re teh type of sports exhaust they had fitted and the value of the exhaust fitment.

Please lets not go there again, do a search and you will find all about Offords and the Sports exhausts and IIRC everything was covered on there re the exhausts.

Please remember the No NAming and Shaming when commenting on this thread

I thank you

well I got her back today with a list of stuff that needs doing (I consider that a good thing) although when I started her she was leaking coolant due to being over filled & scared me a little, they couldn't do an engine tune due to the link bars being too worn (is this normal?)

I know the history with the cherry bombs, but I think it's just that, history.

The guys were helpful, although I was a little dissapointed they did not tune her as that was my main problem, over all I'm happy with the service

If the coolant was changed during the service I think you will find the coolant reservoir may have been purpously overfilled to allow for the level dropping due to any air pockets trapped in the system venting overnight. Removes the risk of the 'customer' forgetting to check the level. The overfilling will not cause any damage & the system will find its own level.

I pressume the link bars you are refering to are between the throttle bodies. If there is play in the links then they would not be able to balance them properly as the reading would be erratic.

yep, said I was best getting them replaced, got quite a few bushes that need changed as well, and my drop links are knackered.

They knew there stuff & had a good chat with regards to what needs doing (going to be a busy winter!) so I give them a thumbs up!

Offords did a chassis repair and MoT on mine recently, there were a couple of very small niggles, but overall was a good experience including a courtesy car. I'd be happy to use them again.

Normally I use APM, and will continue to do so, but for the above work Offords were more convenient for me (they specialise in non-body off chassis repair).
