Sell up or fix up?
Discussion
OK, I've got an old MR2. Mk2 Rev2, black, T-Bar, UK spec. Brilliant car to drive.
However, since it failed its MOT three months ago I haven't driven it - mostly sulking because it had cost me almost £1k in the three months I'd had it up to then and STILL didn't pass. But now I'm getting pissed off at it sitting on the driveway, and feeling shut in because I can't just go for a drive.
So do I fix it up - probably the best part of a grand; it'll need new brakes etc because they're corroded, new battery, maybe a couple of new tyres, plus some engine tinkering (it failed on excessive CO emissions). Or do I try and flog it as a non-runner for parts - it doesn't even start at the moment...
Thoughts?

A grand to repair that? Surely not, have you tries one of the owners clubs approved garages? I went to a garage with my rev3 turbo for a cambelt change quote, they said £480 all in!!!! Went to rogue motorsport in coventry, £180 job done!!!!However, since it failed its MOT three months ago I haven't driven it - mostly sulking because it had cost me almost £1k in the three months I'd had it up to then and STILL didn't pass.
