I happened to see some Lax Power 6 month old child in a public carpark the other day, reving his engine and producing a 5-6 foot jet of flame from the rear of his 996cc beast.

Someone please tell me this isn't legal.. please ?

Wouldnt that come under some firearms act? Surly it would be classed as a flamethrower or somthing?

As far as I know its not legal. It works by installing a spark plug in the exhaust which can be switched on from inside the car. You then rev tne engine and any unused fuel is ignited. Would love to see one of them explain to their insurance company why their car set alight! Just in case your interested I thnk theyre about £200.

This might not sit too well with you guys but look at it another way.

These kids are just having some fun, and if all they do is rev an engine on an out of town shopping car park at midnight - what's the harm?

At least they aren't out robbing, raping or kid fiddling.

If they are driving recklessly or making a noise in an urban street then you could argue we already have laws to deal. Maybe if plod wasn't investing in their saftey teams for dual carriageways some of this type of thug would be caught?

Didn't they have something similar in South Africa which shot flames to the side of cars, when being hijacked?

Imagine it over here.

Excuse me sir but is this your car?
-Oooops Toast!

Can't imagine they'd be legal.

Quite true, but I don't think it takes a genius to work out the consequences if this device should "accidentally" be activated whilst somebody is walking/parked/pulled up behind this sad muppet! Should have saved his £200 for the insurance on something a bit bigger than a sub-1000cc "beast" innit!

Good anti cyclist weapon though. Had one run into the back of the Triumph earlier. I'd stopped behind a bus and he was looking the other way to go down the outside (WTF is up with that?) and bang! Cyclist in heap on floor, me trying not to laugh. Wouldn't have got so close if a six foot lick of flame was coming out the back!

None, as long as they do it in an out of town car park, and not down your street...

Yes! I need one of those! I saw an adert for one. They're amazing. It's because of the high incidence of car-jackings at traffic lights etc. It's only fair really? I mean. What are the opportunities for misuse? It ony fries someone if they're touching your car (or about to) which they shouldn't!

The RSA thing was a guy in a beemer (I think) who rigged it up with gas cannisters & igniters. The burners were set under the sills either side. At any suggestion of a car jacking at t/lights or wherever he'd give the fekkers a light toasting! OOuuch!

It is legal in South Africa, you have to arm the system then there is a foot button. Press, and hey presto! instant barbecue.

There was a interview with the MD on TV in the staes last week. They are thinking of selling in other countries as well as SA.
