What is it with men, and some trouser wearing women, who insist on letting the whole world know they want to marry their partner! confused

Unless your inviting everyone who witnesses the act to your wedding/reception I dont see the point. beer

Shirley women find this embarassing?

If and when I do the deed I will do it in a special romantic private fashion, not when my partner gets off a transatlantic flight in the middle of arrivals at terminal 5. laugh

So, who has done this and where. Own up?

Only time I proposed was in private. The most romantic thing ever.

To be told no, found out she had been shagging her boss.

So no definitely wouldn't do it in public.

Mate wanted to do it on the London eye.

How can I book an entire pod?

Buy all the tickets

Alright then.

Now mate, where on the wheel can no one see me?

About 2 o'clock

So the wheel is moving round, he readies himself, down on one knee to pop the big question.

Clunk, wheel stops and he can be seen by just about everyone on the bloody thing.

Gets off, bit red faced to a massive round of applause from the punters that had seen him.

Agreed, it needs to be just between the two of you. Much more romantic that way.

It's so the person being proposed to feels under pressure to accept, thereby increasing the likelihood of a positive result.

Never in public. I have so many ideas of how to make the occasion a special, romantic one. If anyone is planning this in the not too distant future and has a few quid spare give me a shout, I'll be more than happy to share my ideas.

The reason I say never in public, well a friend of a friend once attempted this; his missus was returning from visiting family, he'd planned that as she got off her flight and came to meet him in the waiting area he'd get down on one knee - traditional and all that - somehow the plonk proposed to the wrong person!

I've heard he panicked, saw a woman who struck a resemblance to his woman, got down on one knee in front of her, grabbed her hand and started to propose, it was then he realised his partner was walking towards him! Must have felt a right pillock, didn't matter he got married and then divorced...

I got down on one knee on 5th Avenue in NY - not one yank noticed...

(outside Tiffanys, straight in to get the ring...)

Mate of mine did this many years ago, at a New Years eve party, popped the question and presented a ring in front of a large crowd of close friends.

She said no.

Very embarrassing for all, not just him & her.
