I think I have one on the back of my wrist. If I flop my hand down, I can see a lump under the skin. Anybody else had one, if that's what it is.

friend of mine had one. quite common at the joints apparently.

The op to remove it wasnt too bad but still had to have 2 weeks off work as they apparently are prone to recurrence if you dont give it total rest after.

One of the carers i work with had one. She had it removed but didn't rest it which resulted in an infection. That was the worst thing about it. Apparently its not a particularly painful operation.

I have one on my foot, the doctor has told me to leave it alone, unless it starts to change/grow/hurt.

It does hurt occasionally, and sometimes shoes can irritate it, but until it starts giving me real grief I think I shall do as the doc says and leave it.

I had one a few years ago. I did the usual 'bloke avoiding the doctor' thing and dealt with it myself (ice to numb the back of hand and a dart to puncture the ganglion. Whilst mine never came back, I suspect [proper] surgery is the most reliable method to avoid recurrence (or infection wink ).

ISTR the Victorians used to whack them with a heavy book (often a bible, hence they became known as 'Bible Bumps').

Ive got a couple of lumps and bumps like that. The doc said leave it alone and dont worry about it - the op to remove them is more hassle than its worth. I squeezed one until I felt it pop though, then went dizzy. I've left the others alone.

My Mother had one some years ago. She went to the Doctor who said "Well - have you tried hitting it with the family Bible?"
"No" she replied "It's on the back of me head."

Ive got one on the top of my wrist about the size of a grape. Have been to the doctors about it but he doesnt seem overly concerned. He says go back to him if it gives me any pain.

I sometimes draw a little smiley face on it and use it to scare my neice.

My mother used to work in a book store, a colleague had one on her wrist. My mother came out with the hit it with a bible story...my mother is full of crap like that. So my mum wanders off and finds a bible in the store, comes back and duly whacks her mates wrist with it. They then trapse off to the hospital to get her wrist put in plaster....the dozzee bint broke it.

I had one on the side of my right index finger ( overuse.....). It was going to be taken out at the doctors but the doc thought it would be too close to nerves/muscles that operate the finger so had it removed by local anaesthetic at hospital. All's well with no recurrence and no infection. I'd have it taken out personally.
