My S2 Elise has its speedo stuck at 25mph when stationary. When I turn on the ignition the speedo reads 25mph and then is probably +25mph incorrect when driving. Has anyone got any ideas how I fix this or is it a dealer job?

- Turn off the ignition
- Open the driver's door (yes, really!)
- Press and hold the trip-meter reset button
- Whilst still holding the reset button turn the key in the ignition to the second position (just before the engine turns)

No, just reset the stack:

1) Open drivers door and keep it open (I kid you not)

2) Hold the trip reset button down

3) While the trip reset button is being held down, turn the key to the battery "on" position.

The needles on dials will vibrate then reset to normal.

Cheers

Good result. I have had to reset mine a few times over the years. One of the odd quirks of lotus ownership.

Wow, even if Blue Peter had run that as the remedy, I'd have wondered what drugs the BBC were now allowing. laugh

Kind of information which is worth its weight in gold - dodgey dealers could easily charge silly money and say they had to do all kinds of electrical checks, and if you did not know the above, who would disbelieve them??

Good work, chaps thumbup
