I've been trying to get through to greens since yesterday afternoon but their phone systems seem down? Can someone else confirm that its not just my phone?

Greens Rainham: 0844 372 5455

Greens Holborough: 0844 372 5406

Thanks

Still zilch, on that number mate. I do have very vague memories of them having a similiar prob a while back. Screw it, think I'm just going to go down there because I need to go to bluewater anyway....

Hi Pete

Rumour is dangerous, they have closed areas of the business but not Vauxhall, and have no intention of doing so.

Be fair though, the 2 lads on Holborough reception do good - Kevin & Steve (I think)

I was in there 2 weeks ago and there were 2 guys I'd never seen before, one youngster who was quite helpful, one Kevin's age (ish, maybe slightly younger?) who had a strange way about him, efficient but a bit off-ish??

And there's the chap who manages the service dept as well, can't remember his name, talks the customer service talk very nicely but seemingly lacks the walk to go with it?

I hope Vauxhall don't bring out any decent cars in the future as I'll be disappointed not to be buying one.....

well they just cancelled the deal the offered me on the vxr8 they have because of quote "financial difficulties". I was told they are not allowed to sell the car. Bit annoyed because i'd started to make arrangements for buying the thing! Good luck to everyone there though.

You could have got a black manual for £19500 from a guy on here recently. Are you after a new LS3 one? Check out autotrader, there are plenty of low mile low cost ones on there.

Notwithstanding the "rumour" comment above, that sounds fairly serious. "Not allowed" to sell the car? By whom? Vauxhall because the franchise is under threat, or Greens management because their cashflow is bad? Or some other reason? Either way, if a car dealer starts refusing deals, on large-engined high taxband cars, in the current economic climate, that doesn't sound great at all?

Hmmm, I'm watching this one with interest as once I return from Minnesota in mid-November I need to set up a run over to the UK with mine to get it's annual service done - Greens was my port of call last time as it's the easiest to get to from Dover once I land back in the UK.

I was told it was because they don't actually own the car, its on finance from gmac. So for some reason they're not allowed to sell any cars that they don't own for the time being.

I always found Greens to be average at best. They are a Vauxhall dealer at heart with fixed prices and large targets to meet. The unless you are on their door step I would always go to the big fish.

I'm very much on their doorstep but that, and the need to keep the service book stamped up are my only real reasons for using them, other than warranty issues, where they've got a distinctly hit & miss track record.

GMAC have pulled out of NZ and Oz markets. Perhaps they are about to do the same in UK?

yes it isnt their call on cars that are GMAC funded.
