(Reasonably) big digital photoframe
Discussion
Hi all, I've been looking for this for a while.... Photoframes are generally (much) too small for my taste and 17- or 19-inch ones were so far prohibitively expensive.
Last week I bought an AOC 2230fm 22 inch monitor. As one of the first(?) LCD monitors this one has a SD card slot built in! So, I now have a 22 inch photoframe hanging on my livingroom wall, accepting photos with a resolution of 1280x720 (screen res is 1680x1050 but for some reason photo's are not accepted in that resolution - manual is vey skimpy). Anyway, 1280x720 is plenty and the photo's are really nice & sharp, and about A3-ish size (landscape).
The monitor cost me about 225 Euros (approx 179 pounds) at a Dutch webshop, which, I think, is a much better deal than most photoframes of decent size at this time. Finally my 1000's of photos get more use than being stuck unloved in the corner of my harddisk.
Power consumption is not insignificant - 50 watts, but unless you have it switched on day in day out it's not too bad.
Anyway, maybe a useful tip for some of those with many pics (and that's all of us I guess).
