Wife answered the door.

As normal they wanted to talk about God.

She said not interested thanks.

He said "When your husband gets that thing going upto speed (pointing at the 'ro) you must wish there is a god".......

It is god ain't it? It's the only religion I believe in...

Could you imagine heaven? There wouldn't be any peace at all. My favourite line when they come calling is, "So, do you think that you will be going to heaven? The same place you are wanting me to go?".. usual reply is, "I surely hope so, that is why I am spreading the world"... My response is "Great! I think I will choose hell, if I get a choice, I certainly don't want to be in a place where there are a bunch of people who believe in imaginary friends, and annoy the shit out of me." Could you imagine heaven full of all the crackpots in the world?? I think the decision would be quiet easy..

Yep, I reckon people should have to answer a questionaire before earning the priviledge to vote. Belief in imaginary friends (with the exception of the FSM of course wink ) should automatically exclude you.

Funny how in all the downtrodden countries around the world i've been to in my oil biz travels, the church is always the most opulent and expensive building to be seen... Always thought that was rubbing the nose of the common man in it somewhat, having a gold leaf turret or whatever.

Ah yeah, I think religion is very wrong in so many ways.

When any of the crackpots arrive at my door, and see it as their way to heaven is to spread the word, and try and save my soul, I think about the following. What about the poor buggars who were living before we got this "great insight" and didn't know they had to do that to get into heaven? I'm gonna be with them! If there is a god, (doubt it very much), will have a just argument and say, look dude, you shouldn't have had all these crackpots pushing your case. You should have completely wiped them off the planet, those bloody oxygen thiefs!

I do find it funny, about the suicide bombers though, thinking that if they blow someone up, that when you get to heaven you are going to have 72 virigns. To use a line I heard from a comic, what the hell use is a bunch of virgins! What you really want is 72 $lutty whores who know what they hell they are doing! So does that also mean, that every time one of this idiots blows them selves up there is a little company called, "72 Virgins" who go around and round up 72 virgins to send to heaven? I also wonder if they are quality controlled? Could you imagine also the stress of having 72 women bitching and complaining to you? Not exactly my picture of what heaven is spose to be..

Umm, also, would be a little to late if you got it wrong ain't it?

Praise be to the Holden god though.... I do believe in him or her.

Missus hates me... I tend to invite them in. Puts them on the wrong foot straight away cos they really aren't used to that. Then I shoot down most of their arguments FOR God with a few scientific facts. Then finish the job by using the bible's own arguments against itself biglaugh

don't want to seem a party pooper or overly pc as I am not a religious person myself but as its a public forum with a sizeable membership from all walks of life some of the comments on this thread could be very offensive. I'd urge a bit more restraint when making comments on religion in the same way you would when it comes to issues like race. In the same way you'd want them to respect your point of view we should show them the same respect when discussing it in a public forum.

Ah, would disagree...

Maybe I should be burnt at the stake or something...

If it causes offence, it is my religion not to believe in imaginary friends, so that should be covered.

Religions are supposed to teach tollerance.
So they can either deal with it or read another thread. "Free will" and all that.

Or are you advocating censorship Sir?

no not censorship just suggesting we tone it down a little in case it offends anyone on here. Having grown up in the west coast of Scotland where religious intolerance has blighted our society since the Irish problem started I'm very aware of how easy it is to cause offence when it comes to religion. You only need be in town when Rangers or Celtic come to play and we're either Orange or Fenian b'stards depending which is visiting, some pubs are off limits depending which school you went to etc etc.

I'm all for free speech, to the extent I don't have a problem with the likes of the BNP or Al Quadi having the right to express their views whether I agree with them or not. I wouldnt however expect to see a discussion on the rights and wrongs of their causes on a car forum. In the same way there may be members of this forum who are religious and would not expect to be "ridiculed" for their beliefs on a car forum. Just suggesting the posters may want to consider the views of others and whether its an appropriate medium to be discussing religion/race whatever in the first place.

Anyway this is starting to turn into a rant and that wasnt the intention. So can we get back to talking about cars now?
