I am 29 and slowly but surely all my mates/people I used to go to school with/uni mates etc are getting married and having kids.....somthing which makes me cringe. I can not stand the thought of kids/marraige one bit.....alot of blokes I know who are older than me have been divorced which again makes me think why would anyone get married in the first place? You could save a whole load of time & hassle by just giving a woman you hate half your stuff.....

I have a mrs, and she mentions it occasionally but then we end up falling out because she gets a flat no. I am far more interested in my work/cars and to be honest that together with dancing and shooting (hobbies) takes up most of my time.....I have 2 farms and a dozen cars to look after which is far more interesting than kids.....isnt it?

wavey

Same age as you fella, own a home, have a long term OH, no engagement or wedding on the cards and certainly no kids yet.

I have managed to deflect the wedding bit for a while as we have agreed there is no point settling down with a family until we have bought a home that is in the area we want to settle in. I only hope the house prices keep falling and the media keep saying no-one can get a mortgage for a few more years.

I have a few mates that are married, some even happy, I also have a couple of very single mates and TBH they seem very unhappy and do much less fun stuff than I do.

27 years, married for nearly 6, a 16 month old daughter and another little'un on the way.

1 house, 3 cars and a career in motorsport.

Each to their own but I'm as happy as a pig in st biggrin

I mis-read that first of all, thought you said 27 with 6 kids!

I guess kids might be one of those things that if it were to happen to me, I would probably adapt/adjust and maybe get used to it.....

I too am as happy as the proverbial dirty pig.....

I can't understand how anyone can possibly look at all that is involved in having a kid and then still decide to have one. I think it's the most effective way short of going to prison to totally fk up nearly twenty years of your life which you can never get back.

As for marriage I think the whole idea of basing a relationship around a legal document is bloody stupid, you either love each other or you don't and the law has got sod all to do with it.

OK Mrs = Girlfriend.

I love the bit at the end...'Get a Life' - what exactly is that supposed to mean?

It's one of those phrases which indicates nothing so clearly as the pillockish nature of the one who uses it.

I had a happy childhood. (don't know if my parent's would agree)

I've enjoyed being a father for nearly 18 years. (Don't know if my son would agree)

Being a parent isn't for everyone I guess.

Married 22 years. Own house 2 cars 4 motorcycles, and spend most of the summer on a racetrack.

What more is there to life?

Ok I am 37 but I was 25 when I had our first daughter.

Best thing I ever did. horses for courses and all that. Yes its fks up your social life and yes it puts a big strain on money(well did for me) but so what. do you want to spend your whole life just thinking about yourself?

Not sure my childhood was happy......up and down lets say.

Interesting comment at the end (what more is there to life)....thats subjective...totally dependant on the individual.

Nevertheless you sound as contented as I am!
