New Macbokk with Ali body / glass touchpad is about £250 more than previous Macbook

Worth it ?

No. Not that I have any idea what the difference is, but it's not gonna be any good for gaming is it? wink

Even the Apple salesman I spoke to couldn't justify the new one over old apart from asthetics!

Its actually quicker than the old Macbook Pro that has just been replaced which was at £1500.

The option is there for both - the 'old' macbook with the plastic case is still being made.

If you want the faster speeds and hugely better graphics capabilities as well as solid aluminium case then there is a £200 premium. IMHO these machines blow away the old one.

Doubt it. Margins are pretty thin. You'll see the same prices for iPods and such for the same reason.
