Ermm.. is it worth in your eyes/wallet a 10k premium for a new one vs a 1 year old one?

If yes, then buy, if not then don't.

Broadspeed are wanting £33757 for this model, seems £31K is a good price. Also the used 2.5 mentioned above is not a patch on the 3.0 engined model.

Come on no one in their right mind uses Glass's guide, especially at the mo. CAP is the one to look at for a realistic value.

Well, I've just been on the VW Used Locator searching for Touareg Altitude 3.0v6TDI and Phaeton 3.0v6TDI 4-Motions.
All had leather, 4-zone climate, electric tailgates, sat nav, bluetooth and the Phaetons had also xenons, parking sensors and 19inch alloys. Most were 2008 08-regs with less than 8,000mi on the clock for no less than £21,000 and no more than £28,000

Not many cars are worth anywhere near book value at the moment. VW are selling Toe-rags to Leasing agents at huge discounts, therefore, expect to budget to loose 15K in the first 12 mths if buying new.

I popped into my local dealer the other day and had a quick look at a Toureg... I thought it was a poor deal at £20k for an 06 3.0TDI Altitude with 20k miles... when I have seen V10's and far newer V6's for the same money. I felt sorry for the salesman, I actually laughed quite loudly when he stated that Touregs were 'really holding their value at the moment' at which point the missus started glaring at me.
