Is this is the same place as Abu Soma?
If it is my brother just got back from a kite surfing holiday over there.
They stayed in a 5* hotel & i st you not it's like a bloody palace!
Their room had its own bar, living room, dining room & bedrooms in it!
& it was only the basic suite!
They ate the food over there & were completely fine!

If it is the same as Abu Soma then it is quite nice went a few years ago. Quite along way from anywhere so if you are not a beach kind of person then might be a bit frustrating

Stayed at the Soma Bay Sheraton two years ago. The whole bay was still being built at that time so there were two hotels and a golf course. Think a shopping centre was being built.

Was actually a lovely place. Very quiet and not full of the normal touristy crap. Hardly any russians in the hotel either. Thought Hurgarda airport needed some serious work to do to it though!

If you're staying at the sheraton pm me if you want further info. Nothing bad though.

Could start by shooting some of the beggars.

Drink only bottled water as per anywhere out of the UK.

Report back - we've thought about going there too smile

Are you going diving or snorkelling? that's the reason for us going. Make sure you do as the Red Sea is one of the world's top underwater locations.

Brilliant place as are others in Egypt. They say a dodgy tum arises from the paper money - there's no coins, so make sure you wash your hands after handling it and you should be hunky dory!! smile
