Classifieds - auction section??

Just been reading the thread on ebay/paypal in the P&P. Some have suggested that lots of smaller sites doing the "niches" might be a good plan.

Given that PH is one of the first places most people come to to buy/sell cars, how about an auction section for cars/car parts?

I don't know if there is a parts section on here, but expanding it would be brilliant...

It is a big idea, and not something that we would be able to step into lightly but it is an interesting idea which I will raise for discussion.

I realise it would be huge and would presumably mean writing a huge new "bit" of the website, but given how popular the PH classifieds are, if it's done right I can see it completely wiping out ebay motors in 6 months!

Excellent idea since Ebay has gone all full of scammers. Would get the site even more traffic, I'm amazed how many people use the site just for the classifieds.

Great idea - but PLEASE put some sort of a 'lock' on entering the P&P (like x no of posts elsewhere) if you do this
