Having decided to sell my beautifull Griff (sob..sob..), I advertised it on Pistonheads...naturally, although I have now had the run around from two 'buyers' who just wanted a test drive (not Pistonhead's fault of course)and the car remains For Sale.

I want to appeal to as many potential buyers as poss, so the question is... If you bought privately,

WHERE DID YOU FIND YOURS ADVERTISED?

Autocar - never very many TVRs in Autocar Classifieds so those advertised stand out.

Found two in Exchange & Mart and one in Cardata. However, I wouldn't touch Cardata for selling - tried it, expensive and useless.

Ours came from Exchange and Mart - I found it on the web. Made Mr Big drive all the way from Essex to a garage in Bolton the following Sunday in the pouring rain to test drive a Griffith 500. Next Saturday the TVR arrived on our doorstep on the back of a trailer.

Have you thought about letting Rob Ingleby know what you have for sale? He may have someone on his client list who is looking for exactly what you have. This may be more appropriate if you're in the market for another TVR. Rob has a business to run afterall.

Just a thought, not sure I'd pay 2p for it though!

What, a Griff? Methinks you've been time-travelling again...

Strangely enough I got into TVRs because of 2 people:

1). Shnozz who offered me his S3, after one curious post on the about TVRs, (I actually wanted a Lotus at the Time). That kick started me.

Then..

2) 2shed who then found me a very sound S3 which I bough a 3 weeks later after Shnozz's email.

Very whirlwind affair and couldn't be happier.

Had a Trident Clipper with a 289 once over and ever since it had to go I've wanted another V8. Earlier this year Autotrader came to the rescue with my 4L Chim. Trouble is now, I see all the posts about Chim 500s and think wouldn't that be nice! Truth is though, when you've sorted your own, got rid of the niggles and come to love it, do you want to start again? I think a visit to Mark Adams and some bits from Tim Lamont may be the way to go. Any thoughts anyone?

PH works well for me (although I also bung things on Autotrader website too, cos its cheap).

So far this year, PH has helped me sell a BMW M5 Touring and an E30 M3 (hence the irrelevant username), and buy my Cerbie.

Pretty good for a free service, I reckon...

cheers

Best responses from my ads for the NSX were on ebay. It didn't sell via ebay in the end, but it did sell to someone who saw it on ebay.
