370bhp @ the wheels is more than the best 4.5's make is it not? i believe that even the best 4.5 would be 350ish @ the wheels? An opportunity for the owners of speed 6's to claim most powerful "real" tvr cerbera??!! smile

Given it's spec it should always have been better than the 2 valver .. I'm just surprised it took so long wink Mind you do we know what a nicely modded AJP8 makes on their dyno? 400 at the wheels maybe? wink

only joking, great numbers as I said in the other thread

What does 370 at the wheels equate to at the flywheel?

370 at the wheels is an easy 450bhp at the fly, maybe more, that 400bhp graph above is at the fly is it not so 330ish at the wheels? i am sure a dyno operator/owner can be a little more accurate.

sorry to disappoint you michael but that's a dyno-calculated flywheel figure on your graph. As said above it equates to about 330/335 at the wheels, i can go find the exact figure but it'll be in that ball park. The problem comes from different places quoting different places for taking the reading from .. tvr power are the only people i know of in tvr circles who only issue hp at the wheels, i don't know why as different dynos will give different hp at the wheels figures anyway so it's a moot point. In the tvr world we use surrey rolling road as the independent dyno of choice to prevent the bun fights escalating too far though.

I think I'd start to worry about S6 car power when I actually see one keep up on the straights on a trackday, let alone gain on me. smile

You guys quoting BHP make me smile. smile

370 at the wheels - Craig's old 4.7 special or an LS.

Different RR, different results.
It is a good figure though, forgot to pick up my surrey RR graphs but so can't say what mine was making but it use to make about 370 atw at austec's maha RR, and acorrected 450,. More importantly it makes 400lbs and over 350 3-6k rpm, not bqa for a lowly V8 wink. tis apples and pears though.
If Dom is watching can you remember what Criags 4.7 used to make atw at Power I seem to recall it was something like 385 yikes

Harry

Any chance they would let you put yours on their Rollers?

Perhaps not!

Makes my standard 4.5 285 at the wheels (Austec) look rather sad!
Thought my 358.6 at the crank was good, but they are claiming 457.72 at only 6 thousand RPM!

Their RR is actually quite hard on figures, a GOOD 4.5 is around 330bhp and mine is 450bhp at the wheels, i have compared a few using that dyno. The next and perhaps final mods i have should take it to 525bhp ish at the wheels on that dyno. When they introduced the NOS and we compared graphs to mine they were remarkably similar, but i dont believe in that stuff, you got it or you aint! I dont think he is actually bigging it up, the S6 stroker is genuinely strong, think about it..its only just over 100bhp per litre, out of a 4 valve motor, nothing particularly staggering there.

Number chasers hehe does it really matter as long as the car performs??
