Hi all, have a rather nasty knocking noise from the N/S of my 330ci. On checking it appears to be the ball joint on the lower wishbone that is worn... A quick check on pricing confirms BMW want more than anyone else at £150 for the replacement arm. Europarts and GSF are significantly cheaper.

Has anyone any experiences of the GSF and Europarts replacements and if so what would you recommend...

Thanks in advance

Mark..

A lot of their ball joints are bilstein/febi so no worries with their gear. C3 in Penge also supply bilstein, not sure of price.

Can you replace just the ball joint then? BMW supply only the arm, no ball joint showing on their system...

You can, but has to pressed in/out and there is a chance of cracking the arm. I bought complete Febi arm/joint/bush assemblies for £75 each (IIRC). Not worth messing about.

its a much easier job to change it all in one go to be fair and probably more cost effective in the long run

Don't forget the rear bushes as well, they usually get wrecked getting them off.
