cmon Mel,
open the thread (you know, the topic/discussion, on the interwebpagethingy)
right click in the address bar (at the top of your browser window, the bit that says "http://www.pistonheads.com/xforums/topic.asp?h=0&f=69&t=602623&nmt=VXR8%20special%20maybe??" then select "copy"
then go to where you are posting your reply and right click/paste the address you just copied

Oh and ETA: URL = Uniform Resource Locator. More or less the address of the web page as you see it in the address bar of your browser.
