Hi all. I have a minor problem, but as it isn't easy working on the car in a dingy underground car park, I thought I'd get as much info as I could before I start.

My screenwash is leaking, pretty quickly it seems. T350, so I can see that the tube is split near the pump, but when I topped her up it was too dark to see where all the water was coming from. So I basically have two choices: tube or bottle.

In essense, what would you expect to happen if you filled a screenwash bottle without any tubing attached?

And, should it become necessary, does anyone know 'numbers' for the bottle, or the tube size?

Thanks in advance.

Almost certain it will be the tube. It perishes and splits thus the fluid pi**es out all over the floor. Halfords do a more durable (albeit less rubbery/bendy) washer hose. They do 2 you need the larger one. The trouble with jointing the pipe is it will split again.... and again... and again before I just replaced the whole length between the pump and the wipers. Best done in the light with a cold engine so you don't get burnt and a few stretches beforehand so you can bend yourself in two to re-route the pipe!

Thanks Andy thumbup

By the sound of it I won't be wasting my time cutting the existing tube shorter and re-attaching it. Then I can pop to Halfords for some new tubing and do that bit at my leisure (they were 1/8th and 3/16th IIRC).

Thanks again.
