Can anyone suggest somewhere not too far from Bexleyheath?
My dear old Mum is 80 this year, and I was intending to put on a nice big family party for her in London.
However, since a fall and a long hospital stay she now has Dementia and I've moved her from London down to near me in Dorset. A family party is no longer really on, as moet of her family would not be able to get down here and I don't think having her stay overnoght in a hospital would be very good.
So the current plan is to take her up to the London area for the day, trying to get as many of her family to meet us for either a meal or just a drink. We're planning on a lunvhtime, so that we canget her back home the same day.
I'm looking at somewhere that is easy access from the M25 and from London in the Kent area; her older sister lives in Bexleyheath.
Well, that's my life story, so can anybody recommend somewhere? Needs to be reasonably large in case lots of people turn up and needs decent parking facilities.
All suggestions welcomed; might be the last time most of my family get to see Mum again due to her frailty and condition, and the distance she now lives from London.
Thanks in advance folks.

I would recommend the Wheatsheaf at Bough Beech (it's near Hever)- should only take 20mins from Bexleyheath. Good food, nice atmosphere, car park etc.

There's also the Bullfinch at Riverhead, but it's not so old world.

That looks really nice. Sat Nav puts it 40 minutes from Bexleyheath, so not too bad. http://www.wheatsheafatboughbeech.co.uk/
