I have sold an item on the bay, the buyer says its not as described (a comment I disagree with but thats a different story). He's annoying me now so since its an item I could sell a hundred times over I'm happy to refund. He wants a full refund before posting it back, I think he should return it first (so I can check for damage etc) before getting the cash back (and he should pay for postage?). I couldn't find a guide on ebay's website so what do you think I should do?

Alternatively I could just tell him to get stuffed & he can keep it......

He should return it before refund. No different to any retail mail-order transaction.

Oh dear, sounds like you've met one of the twunts that wrecked my eBaying.

Is this via Paypal? If so he needs to return it first by a tracked delivery method. Paypal can then see when it's been returned and will do the refund.

If it's not, and the buyer insists on refund first, then you're risking losing the goods and the cash. What can you tell about him from his feeedback is he a newbie? If so tell him to shove it and take the negative FB - it's less painful than losing £50.

Thanks to the new FB rules my own FB score is gradually subsiding and will be zero in about 8 months... rolleyes

Return then refund. No brainer really.
