Anyone use / used these? Got any comments? Are they any good?

Given it works out at about £3 per evening to use, not sure it works our cheaper than just using the central heating?! If you have used them, were they worth it?

On an open fire I tend to use one of these at the start of the fire and let it build up heat before adding more wood or coal.

They have a place, but I doubt that they would be cheap to use if that was the only fuel.

Well softwood can be bought for a tenner a ton so £3 a log might be a little bit pricey

Well.. they make fires easy to start and the flames they throw off can often be multicolored, which can be interesting to gaze at.

But you said it, they are expensive. I usually just use wood or In-Laws.
