Porscheuro Banned!!!!!!!
Discussion
I just thought I would let you guys know, that Porscheuro has been banned!
This was the moderators reaction to Jon offering the detailing demonstration and open day in Barnsley.
Their reason?
It was blatant advertising apparently
Jon was offering nothing more than food and a days demonstration with a detailer, who was to show the difference between various, well known automotive cleaning products.
He was given no official warning for this misdeed and was merely emailed with an exert from the T&C's, but later found his account to be deactivated as a direct result of the moderators decision.
The reason why I am posting this, is to let you know that the moderators decision, albeit final, is completely misguided and totally unfair!
What ever happened to the days when you could arrange an event on PH, for the PHers and not have a problem? People used to let people know that they could offer a service at a good rate for phers and it used to be supported by the locals as it gave us somewhere to go should something go wrong with our cars.
Now I am in no way affiliated with Porscheuro, I do not work for them or take a cut from them and have never been to their premises, but I do believe in supporting local business and helping fellow phers
My position as photographer on the day was merely to supply photos and memories from the days proceedings and if anyone wanted any prints, then fair enough, but I do not use PH (or used after the mods decide to strike me off for this here posting!) to make money, I use/used PH to keep in touch with friends that I had made and keep upto date with events...which is evidently, now frowned upon.
This inconsistent and narrow minded approach that the moderators have taken, just goes to show how much PH has changed...sadly
I'm sorry, but it's a joke!

To be honest I thought he was a bit blatant with his advertising. Even pushy to be honest.
There are a lot of traders on here who pay for advertising (as indeed I will be soon as I take the new business online), it's a bit of a slap in the face to them when someone advertises for free when it is those who pay for advertising that keep the site going for the rest of us. I don't agree with all the mods decisions but in this case I really do.

The last one was nothing more than an open day with a detailer though....There are a lot of traders on here who pay for advertising (as indeed I will be soon as I take the new business online), it's a bit of a slap in the face to them when someone advertises for free when it is those who pay for advertising that keep the site going for the rest of us. I can appreciate your position though fella, but this time it wasn't blatant advertising and there wasn't any discussion about it.

That's ridiculous!! Did he do anything different from Mark letting us know about the opn day at Malton?
No mate, this time around it was nothing more than inviting us along to a detailing demoI know there was mention of me being there in an official capacity, but Mr Will assures me that was nothing to do with it

If it was considered blatant advertising I would have expected the message to be removed and the OP e-mailed with a warning.
To ban the OP without any prior warnings seems 'heavy handed'.
Can whoever 'banned' PE please enlighten us????
Apparently he has been subject to a warning in the past, but as I said Stu, this wasn't advertising...it was an organised eventTo ban the OP without any prior warnings seems 'heavy handed'.

This is why I've brought it up as it comes across as heavy handed and unreasonable
know a great place near Grimethorpe and Barnsley I took my 355 to have its oil change done. Nice place, the people there give good banter!
But on the completely unrelated topic of Jon getting banned, it does seem a bit harsh... now if he'd been banned for the continuous bullying I receive from him, fair enough!!!

how was it pushy by saying detailing demo's piccy's if wanted and if anyone wanted to check their car out would put it on a ramp, basically a get together for yorkshire owners and wasn't meant in anyway as an advertisement. no charges for anything and sarnies and beverages tooThere are a lot of traders on here who pay for advertising (as indeed I will be soon as I take the new business online), it's a bit of a slap in the face to them when someone advertises for free when it is those who pay for advertising that keep the site going for the rest of us.
