Char Sui pork with shrimp rice
Discussion
Seeing as I just wrote out the recipe to the duck curry, I'm on a bit of a roll, so I thought I'd share my Char sui pork recipe (doin git tonight, but it's been well tested before!)
Recipe:
Meat and marinade
4 Pork loin steaks
2-3 tbsp Hoi sin sauce
4 tbsp dry sherry
4-5 tbsp dark soy
2 tbsp honey
2 tsp Chinese 5 spice
small bunch of fresh corriander
(optional) - 1 tbsp Soy-bean paste
rice
3-400g cooked rice (uncooked weight)
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely diced
1 green pepper, finely diced
2 eggs
200g prawns
2-3 tsp Won Ton soup powder
+ 2-3 heads of steamed Pak Choi
Make up the marinade and leave the meat soaking overnight.
Pre-heat the oven to 200C and cook the meat for 10-12 mins (depending on thickness of course)
Fry off the onion, carrot and pepper in a wok, then add the rice, won ton powder and eggs. Mix thoroughly, and keep stirring over a high heat, to make sure all the egg gets cooked. Add the prawns and warm through.
Steam the Pak choi and lay over big mounds of rice. Lay the pork on top. Job done.
