Street Photography and other interesting photos
Discussion
Search is down (again) otherwise I'd have used it
I've been off work this week and spent some time getting to grips with the 10-20 and using some principles on other glass.
Anyway, one thing that struck me reviewing images is that they're all a bit static. As in, I seem to be taking lots of pictures of inanimate objects. Thats fine in itself, but I feel like there's something missing, a focal point so to speak
I fancy getting around this by trying out some random street photography. Any tips of how to go about it, what to watch out for etc?
I might ease in gently with something like a local gig, but dont really want to dive in at the deep end rocking up at the local towncentre on a saturday morning with a tripod and a smile
Anyone have any tips, guidance or other suggestions?

I do a bit of candid shots around Edinburgh. Never really used a 10-20 for this, but tend to stick to the 100-400 or 70-200f2.8. The 70-200 produces some excellent results and really brings the subject out at f2.8. The good thing with zooms is you can linger about from a distance and no-one hardly ever notices
A friend of mine uses the 10-20 but gets right up in the persons face (he's a braver man than me).
Here's a couple of examples.

It's also maybe worthwhile carrying, a copy of photographers rights with you (read and study first), in case this happens
Cheers,
Neil.

Didn't know whether to post this here or in the Random Photos thread (so you got both!) but when I saw these two guys sitting and chatting over lunch in their painters outfits, and where they were sitting, I just had to grap the shot - I (at least) found it amusing!
I'd like to see some more street photography here....so no apologies for bumping the thread up

Unfortunately, it was from waist height with a wide angle so apologies for slightly poor quality due to the crop etc.....
