Alright, so it's not a muscle car but I finally got the engine sorted on my Banham X99 and it's....um...nippy. Gave a Volvo T5 driver a shock away from the lights the other night though. It was 3rd gear before he recovered, caught me up and blew me away.

Started out as a bog standard 1.4 Mpi 'K' series with about 95bhp. Finally got it onto Dave Walkers rolling road and it's got a whopping 123 bhp!! Not quite what I'd hoped for but it's about a 40% hike and the road cam means it's useable.

Dave Andrews head, cams, vernier pulleys, Elise plenum, Green cone filter with home cooked induction pipe, C-4 coil, uprated leads, engine rebuilt and balanced by Steve Smith. 4-2-1 stainless manifold and de-catted exhaust system. Mightn't be the most powerful on the road but it's smoooth.

Throttle bodies next or a 1.8?

Think I'll go out now for another thrash.

The thing that gets me with kit cars is that if you park it outside your house, go indoors for a while, do something to take your mind off it, go BACK outside, and just looking at the car gives you that stupid grin that you have CONSTANTLY, every time you drive it

Fantastic

Just been for a zip round the A-roads, curtailed by the mothers and shopping brigade in their 4x4's. Must be school turning out time.

Ah, well. Saturday tomorrow so I can have another go.
