Have learned the hard way you should not do this!!

Originaly white 'modern' emulsion by Farrow and Ball, we changed our mind and painted over with a lime green, unfortunatly the wipeable surface of the white F&B has affected the lime emulsion and the white paint seems to almost shine through and the green paint does not bind properly to the white.

I know ive been stupid not to rub the white paint down first but, whats the best way to resolve the situation?

a) rub down the wall to flatten the surface and repaint

b) Paint a PVA/water mixture over the wall and reapply the green on top?

C) any suggestions

Thanks

(Awaits comment on painting a wall lime green.....)

Either, as you say a pva solution, prior to a topcoat, or overpaint with a matt undercoat and leave to dry for 24 hours.......

You need to sand it down to get rid of the 'wipeable' finish then you're good to go (maybe go with a diluted quality white matt emulsion first as a base (mist) coat.

Whatever you do, don't put PVA anywhere near it.

Out of interest, why not the PVA? I thought it was good for sealing walls?
