Long time lurker, first time poster. My X-33 was back with Omega for a service, and I get a phone call yesterday from my AD to tell me that my watch is no longer with Omega. - I will go into this when its reached an appropriate conclusion. Any how, bottom line is that since the X-33 is now discontinued, I have been offered any watch in the current Omega range "Within Reason". I throw it open to the PH masses. - Which watch should I go for and do you think I should push my luck for any "extras"

As a side note, does anyone know of any X-33's still in the dealer network?

Thanks
A pee'd off Rab

Why can't they offer you a second hand one? Can't see it being outwith their powers to find one.

I'd probably ask them for a 50th anniversary speedy or a planet ocean if new is the only option.

Refuse point blank and tell them to source a replacement x-33 or you will report your watch stolen to the police hehe .

And keep on this line until they are pleading with you, then you can pretty much have anything in the range.

Or tell them to buy you this one....

Ideally, you want your watch back, but if they're offering... Seamaster Pro Aqua Terra chronograph?

If you have to choose a replacement, would also recommend either the 50th Anniversary Speedie or a Planet Ocean

Being a speedie fan-boy I would also recommend the 50th Anniversary watch, but if you take advantage of the more rugged nature of the X-33 then it won't be for you.

As far as others are concerned, I personally really like the PO, the Railmaster and also take a look at the Olympic Timeless: Co-Axial movement, Speedie Pro styling, and I really like the retro font and dial. They also don't shove the olympic connection down your throat either...

I'd have a DeVille Co-Axial Chronograph.

Nothing at all like the X-33, but a change is as good as a rest as they say ...

Indeed - and take it even further.

Omega are owned by the Swatch Group. If you can get it to group level then you'd have the pick of a Breguet, Blancpain or Glashütte Original as well! smile

Now that would be cool (but extremely unlikely)

My advice would be to push as hard as you can. That is totally out of order. Explain that the piece had great sentimental value and that you chose an authorised dealer as they could be trusted etc. I think it's outrageous for them to lose a watch.

That is gorgeous. Hadn't seen it. Love the deco detailing on the face.

Went to the jewelers today and got the full story. 50 to 60 watches were stolen from Eastleigh, including a collection of breguet's that seem to have been the intended target, all the other watches were a bonus for the dirty robbing bds. Dealers are in the process of contacting the unlucky owners over the next week or so to let them know the bad news. As for a replacement watch, I went for a planet ocean chrono, black dial with orange numbers, looking forward to it being delivered now.

Nice choice, presumaly a list of all the models with serial numbers will be released to prevent these watches being sold on the market?

Yep, watch is already on the lost and stolen register, chances are that the serial numbers have been polished off.

my favourite Omega at the moment

I love that watch too, though I prefer it in red gold with a brown strap. I was going to buy one until I discovered the price. Originally I wanted a Constellation Double Eagle in stainless steel and yellow gold, but they have been discontinued so that DeVille was my next choice... but for the price!
