LT177 Gearbox Oil recommendations?
Discussion
Not EP80, it wont change gear when its cold if you do. Land Rover did recommend ATF fluid, but its bad news for bearing life. A lighter 75 full synthetic is not too bad, as long as you go easy on the gears when cold. Otherwise there is a full synthetic especially for these ' boxes here:

Did you find a significant improvement?I am also thinking about switching to Difflock oil for my 4.3/LT77. I am using Valvoline 75W-80 semi-synthetic at the moment. Strange was that we could only manage to get around 1,6 instead of the 2,7 liter mentioned on the Griffith Pages and the Difflock site in. What are your experiences? Does a Landrover box uses more because it's 4WD?
Thanks,
Peter
