My W8 is dead

Anyone want to tell me what to do with it? the chain's gone, shagged teh engine and it is now almost undriveable. grr

50k miles, black full leather passat w8. was for sale last week for 6.5k and now I just want shot of it.

any advice?

Surely at 50k, I'd be onto VW customer services, they may come up with good will ( I assume the car is out of 3 yrs warranty?), esp if it's got FVWSH.

Must say, I'm surprised that the cam chain has gone.

Bugger. I take it the chain was meant to last the life of the car, unlike a normal cambelt?

On that basis it's worth putting a call in to VW HQ for a bit of goodwill...

My understanding of chains is that they should last the life of the vehicle i.e at least 100K. Was it rattling or did it just randomly break?
