big block or small block wont make any difference...

Id email them and ask.. only thing else id ask is how long they last.. A drag engine only does about 4 miles at each meeting so over a year will only do about 40 miles. Mufflers might only last one or 2 seasons, so on a road car might be shot in a week or so... Those guy will have tested them im sure but if they work i recon most new builds will have oval exhaust out the back because they look cool

They are very nice looking cans, will also be interested to know what the manufacturer has to say!
Dom, do you know if there any differences with alchohol silencers over standard? Just thinking about their possible use of different packings etc to get the lower DB. (methanol and nitro with their lower egt's etc)

Noise readings depend on how close you are to the car and at what revs... I would check if the 95 dBA is measured in the grandstand with the car on tickover!! I have never seen a drag car that quiet!

they dont normally run alchohol or nitro cars with silensers as they are usually just primary tubes sticking out the sides...2500-8000 HP would blow the silencer across the carpark(also nitro would burn the silencer(remember the flames)and alchohol eat into the materials (but not burn the materials as its a cool fuel)

The car in the picture is a comp.car as its not running blower... it will be a mega tuned v8 with a mix of methanol rather than full methanol.

I used to run an alchohol(methanol)mix in my race bike and due to the slower flame rate the exhaust note was quieter than running on race fuel, until i started adding the coctail of other additives to the fuel to speed up the flame rate again but on a car im not sure..Every engine is different.

I emailed the company yesterday after the initial thred as i too thought wow they would really suit the ultima, and i have asked for details and prices and if an application for a road car was possible as i still feel these will burn out on road / race use due to the high tempweratures and the closeness to the headers.... If i get a reply ill let you know.. i have also posted a thred onto the drag race forum and asked the same question(again ill keep you posted)

still havent had reply from shop...
drag forum have not used them and feel possibly will burn up due to heat over a period of time....they mostly use flowmaster silencers or turbos to quieten the bike horsepower road cars down...
will keep you posted
