The Kangaroo TV company has added two new attennas to the Le Mans site so coverage will now be availble in all the campsites as far as Beausejour. I doubt it'll get as far as Arnage or Mulsanne Camps but will have greatly extended coverage nonetheless so hopefully make the hefty price more justifiable.

If you want, you will be able to pre-book your TV system through White Rabbit Racing whether you are on our tour or not then pick it up on arrival. €80 for Wednesday to Sunday.

I hired one for this years F1 in Hockenheim and thought it was excellent!You can chose a "favourite" driver and watch in car camera footage throughout qualifying and the race,following each drivers position,timings etc.
I,m sure that not every driver was available for this function, but that may change in future.
I would hire one again,and at 50 euro,s for the weekend ,was pretty good value!
I was sitting at the end the pit straight opposite a giant screen ,so most of the info I was
receiving, on the hand held Tv ,was the same as being broadcast around the circuit,but the facility I liked most was being able to access all the data when I wasn,t watching the "live" action.

As long as they definately cover the campsites (they tell me they have added two new antennas to facilitate this) they I reckon they'll be good. Nice to have some proper coverage from your tent I reckon.

Anyone know what to do about batteries etc? These are some questions to look into.

I hired one this year at LM. Well worth it although we didn't see the site coverage diagram until we handed the units back on Sunday. Was great to be stood in the cider bar watching the build up on the Kangaroo, shame it didn't work where we were on Karting Nord though.

The batteries are fully charged and you get 3 from memory. They supply chargers and different plugs so as long as you can get some juice you can keep them charged. It all comes in a carry bag and you also get ear peices to listen to the commentary. You can also swap the batteries at the kiosk for fully charger ones if you haven't got access though.

Was great for stats to see the different categories and team feeds. I'll be getting another this year.

A friend had one and it was excellent. we will most defiantely be getting one this year, How many between the 10 or so of us will bethe only question.

It is a real shame that they don't seem to be able to get them to work around the whole of the track though.

Worth getting one to share amongst the group (though not sure one-each is worth the money) and worked in '08 all the way to Houx.

Hopefully things will be better this year but the 'extras' were a little limited IMHO - on the 'pick a car' front you could only follow 2x Audi, 2x Peugeot, 1x Corvette from memory.

The stats were good (you could actually tell where cars other than P1/2/3 were in the race) but didn't update too quickly - can remember seeing an overtake in LMP2 on-track and waiting minutes for it to be reflected on the 'roo.

I was put off my the lack of coverage over the campsites.

Now this has been boosted though, I think I'll try one out for next year. They seemed pretty good value to me.

I had one at Monaco - it was brilliant - bonus you get to keep the headphones and they are a whole lot better than the Ipod ones!

Depends which site you are on, the further out ones will not get as good reception, also highly nickable....

Do they have a video-out connection, does anyone know? The idea of squinting at a 2" screen for hours doesn't really appeal...

I beleve that they are technically capable, but the facility removed due to the legalities of re-broadcasting. We looked into this as it would be ideal through a projector.

It wouldn't work very well as the format is designed around the 3.5in screens. Trying to display that on a larger screen the picture would be all fuzz. Kinda like when you take a pic on your old crappy camera phone and try to enlarge it on your screen.

It's digital (and very low-res) then? If I watch a normal picture on a 14" or 50" TV it doesn't get much worse...
