Which is the best Watch shop in London
Discussion
Hi guys, as mentioned on another post I am now in a position to buy my first decent watch and I have a budget of between £8000-£12000. Could someone please advise me of a good London based shop that can offer very good advice and a quality watch selection. I have no real exp of buying a decent watch so dont want to be ripped off, I just want good honest advice. Thanks in advance.

Hi Streetrod,At your budget you should end up with a beautiful watch. If you are unsure of what you are looking for, I suggest you take a day to look at the selection of brands stocked at the following.
Selfridges - The Wonder Room. Nearly all the luxury brands are stocked.
Harrods - Fine Jewellery Room. "
Marcus - Old Bond St. As Soovy has confirmed, real wrist porn.
Watches of Switzerland- Various London stores. A market leader.
My advice is to visit the stores, have a really good look at all the different types of watches that £12k wil get you. Once you've decided, contact a watch broker and find out how much you can save on the store price......
Have fun!

Guys thanks for all the advice. Now just to show how clueless I am are there any particular questions I should ask a dealer that will test their metal and show me that I am not being duped. As I say I know what I like from a visual point of view but when it comes to the technicalities I am lost. In general I am a very technical bloke having built various cars and having a degree in Physics, but the watch market is new to me, so again thanks in advance.
By the way the £12000 is the top end, I hope I dont have to spend that much.

Another vote for Jura Watches in Burlington Gardens. Have a look at their website -

Thanks for the advice guys, I have checked out the web sites and they have opened my eyes. The problem is that now some of the watches I have instantly falling in love with are well outside of my £12000 budget.. AHHHHHHH and Damn!!!!
Anyway I will be checking these places out over the next few weeks to see what I can get as the money is currently burning a rather large whole in my pocket.
