Chimaera forum dieing?
Discussion
Is it my imagination or is this forum slowly dieing? There was a time not a day passed when there was something interesting or new to learn about a Chim just by looking at the posts.
What has changed? Have previous owners changed cars or just lost interest in it? Or is it my imagination?

Like you say lots of stuff has already been said so a quick search normally turns up the info you may require.
A while ago Ted did merge the Chim and Griff forums, but he split them again as none of the Chim owners knew about hair care products and dryers.

Maybe people want to chat no just look up info - regardless if it's been said before.
I hate all the 'been done before' replies. Forums are also a form of communication, not just an information reference.
I wouldn't go into a pub and ask everyone if they've already talked about a particular topic before making conversation.
Newer members want to 'interact' with other users, rather than just search for the info.
Maybe everyone's Chimaeras are running well at the mo' so no need to post with another problem to solve, unlike the Tuscan Forum (runs and hides).
I've just fitted Toyos all round on my Chimaera ... there that should get the conversation going. (No comparisons yet - sorry - feels like driving on ice at the moment since I've only done 1 mile on them so far)

I use it to search and every now and again ask a question, but lots of the answers are there already which is great.
There are new things on here, and I for one am pleased not to have to trawl through too much junk to find what I want.
When people do pose questions, we do get good answers from the people who know, so Thanks to them for keeping the rest of our cars running.

As Count Duckula has so rightly pointed out the Griff Growl are just too busy getting our hair care products ready for Sunday's meet.
We'll be only too pleased to see any TVR - or for that matter anybody with interest in cars and coiffure - at Bedworth
I remember the furore (wasn't that a Renault model some years back
) about the merging of Griff and Chimaera forums. I fought it cat and non-catalytic converter at the time. Not because one is better than the other or there should be any us and them; it's simply easier for searching on problems and handier when offering advice to keep the two seperate.
Anyway, from out here it doesn't seem that Chimaera topics are quiet - rev it on up!

That's charming isn't it. I get here and now it's all dying.
Someone mentioned tyres earlier on this thread, has anyone fitted my favourite tyre to their Chimaera yet? The GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D3. I have them fitted to my Zed and they transformed the car.

M@H said:If your horn isn't working, check both fans are still coming on.
other than that, the horn doesnt work (relay I think) and there's a coolant leak from one of the rad hoses.
You have my symathy on coolant leaks / cooling problems. I had more than my fair share of them when I bought the car but thankfully no further problems in the 2 years since they were sorted out.

I don't think there is a FI GS-D3 to fit the front of the Chim - I checked several months ago intending to get a full set but drew a blank. They are a great tyre and if they become available I would be in the market next time round (in about 8500 miles to be precise).

For all our sakes Ivan I hope it’s just your imagination, it's a great forum IMHO that has and does supply a wealth of information.
I think one has to bare in mind that it’s a mature forum and for this reason alone, new found problems are hard to come by.
Also I believe that in general the contents of the posts and threads are very informative, we have a wealth of experience and knowledge supplied on a daily basis.
I do try to keep the FAQ's topped up with new articles as a when they crop up; again a vast amount of information can be found here.
I would personally like to thank the likes of you, M@H, Incorrigible, Steve Heath and many others contributors who are too many to mention, for the content and quality of posts and threads submitted.
I enjoy the forum immensely, and have read EVERY post and individual thread that has been posted since last October. Of this I have not tired and hope I never will.
A big thanks to you all for making this forum what it is, INTERESTING! again IMHO
OH
Big Al.
