Mate. I had a car cloned years ago and didn't have a clue until the Regional Crime squad turned up on my doorstep. There was another car like mine running around with my number plates just 11 miles away.
There is no protection from scum like this, your rego is clear for everyone to see wherever you park it, we are all at risk every day.
Problem is, when/if, scum like this get caught, they only get slapped wrists instead of them being cut off! No wonder cops sit at the side of the road (or in unmarked cars) nicking speeding cars. Easy money!

Sounds a bit concerning (I'm retired plod...)but bearing in mind how few of our cars get stolen, might be nothing to worry about.
If you are still worried, might be a good excuse to buy a personalized plate from the DVLA as a Chrissy present; at least that changes your reg no, and gives you a plate thats a bit different?

well me and Gareth actually shuffled our feet, ordered a bacon and egg buttie and wound Mel up a bit. She then pretended she needed something from her car and after going back a second time she shut the bonnet. We would have gone over and said something but our food would have gotten cold
Yeah, they might have cloned your roll too...
This is all cicumstantial, and it maybe completely innocent, and then again may not.
Does make you think though, if the OP's car WAS cloned from info on this site then they are probably keeping themselves upto date with proceedings as we speak.
One to bear in mind for all future posters.

The plate on the cars Cols private one. Cost him £1,400 doubt he'd change it. Besides that would be less money to spend at Monkfish
