HELP......After looking for a mr2 for for too long (5years)....I know too. My insurance man/woman will now give me insurance that I can aford. SO lets go shopping. The only problem now is how do I find a good one. Should I wait and use the guys or trail through the ads and up and down the country..Any advice anyone?

Thanks

Save your money and look in this country. For 5K you should get a seriously well sorted Turbo with the way the market is at the moment. Currently a TRD widebody replica on Ebay and he can't give it away at £5.5K, maybe worth a punt?

Buying from Japan is no safer than buying here, they are old cars now and they are certainly not fresh imports! smile

Can't do any harm to look at Newera.
Another option is to nose around on the MR2 forums
http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/

You don't say whether you are looking for an n/a or a turbo
There is currently a 1998 Revision 5 n/a GT T-bar for sale on mr2oc

for 5k, get a beauty off the forum and you will have a grand in change. you will want to upgrade it, so you might as well look for one with: decent exhaust (with decat), intercooler upgrade, boost / oil temp / knock guages (or an apexi controller), chassis braces, and TRD anti roll bars.

Newera are a waste of time in my opinion.I tried to buy a car from them.I dont think they even owned the car that they said was for sale. As said, buy one off PH.and save a lot of time and money.

Have a good look on IMOC. I bought my MR2 turbo from a guy off there and it had been really well looked after.

Where have you been looking for insurance? I'm 21, 4ync and got it from adrian flux, breakdown cover and homestart for just over £700, that was 3rd party fire & theft but it's not so bad. Definately get a turbo, for that sort of money you'd be able to get a really nice rev 4/5 with not alot of miles. They're going for peanuts now!

also, a premature welcome to the darkside! Turbo is the way to go.

Good luck with looking mate.

Sorry no more pics, get yourself registered on the IMOC and ask the seller thumbup

TBH I think its a little overpriced, I'd say £4.5-5K max.
