My s2 is not very smooth (jerky-missing slightly) when trying to drive using the slightess amount of throttle. my ?????
1. tried putting into code 60, but car kept cutting out after few seconds running? Do you disconect battery & throttle pot with ignition on ??
2. which plug lead do you use for timing light?

Also how you you tighten fan switch etc on the S2 ?

cheers Martin

1. According to an article I have, disconnecting the throttle pot puts the ECU in Code 60 service mode.

2. The front one on the right (ie under the alternator) is the correct one. Or the middle one on the left (behind the dipstick tube) fires at the same point in crankshaft rotation so should give the same result.

don't know what you mean by "tighten the fan switch"

I disconnected pot but car kept cutting out after starting ?
The fan switch & fog light switch rotate a little when turned, think they need tightening onto dash ?

Tricky job i think to tighten switches, I had it done for me at the last service, you need a fibre washer betweem the switch body and the back of the dash

Cheers, I will have a look. BTW car is running 100% better now, checked timing with strobe earlier & it was quite advanced so adjusted it down to around 12 degrees.
