....and bring home a win.
Well done to Richard and the Team at the final LMA race at Donington yesterday. Qualified P1 in the cool but dry(ish) conditions with a sensational time of 1min 14.9sec, a full second quicker than the P2 car. The race was in damp to wet conditions and after much deliberation Richard went out on the inters. Nick Williamson (series leader)had some form of mental aberration and went out on slicks with predictable results; absolutely no grip at all. The race was really only between Richard and Rex Stamp (on full wets) in his very quick Exige and it took only 3 laps before they were into the back markers. Good ol' tussle for the whole race with the lead swopping several times before poor old Rex's supercharger belt went bang and Richard romped home with the bacon. So 2 wins to finish the season....augers well for 2009.

And the real reason why Richard likes to win...(!)

Promise I won't tell Wendy.

And we were questioning why we turned up to a wet, windy, cold Donington in November. Richard blitzed his only clear lap in qualifying which cheered us up!!! Then the weather threw us a curve-ball with it being not too wet. What to do. Just before collecting the cars for the race, a track inspection showed no spray, so a quick change to inters (damn having too many tyre choices!!!) and off he went.
Some slippy sliding round the track as Richard and Rex easily pulled away from the field. A ding-dong battle for most of the race was entertaining for us watching, and apparently good fun for the drivers too. Two wins to end the season second in class and fifth overall in the championship - what a good result this season has turned out to be. Bad luck for Rex, though.
Well done Richard. All I can say is that the turn-around to get the car back together after Oulton Park was inspiring. Jetstream's Motorsports help in sorting out the troubles after Anglesey was invaluable as well.

I'm bokked into the sevenoaks holiday inn for the friday night, but seen as I'm free to go on Saturday at about 3 and don't need to be back till 11am or so on the sunday, I cancelled the hotel for the sat night and was planning on going home and back again.
I've got the car at Sinclaires right now and they're kindly taking it to Brands for me on sat and I'm coming down with my mate on friday night.
