hi there as a birthday prezzie ive decided to buy my misses a eunos auto mk1 as she has loved these for a long time.the car will be a weekend toy but of course needs to be reliable,which being japanese shouldnt be an issue.my budget is 3k max.any advice would be gladly accepted.and yes it does have to be a auto.

Good news is (I think) you'll find autos are better to buy than sell.

Can't comment much more on this other than to say apart from the gearbox (and the engine, I believe, is in a slightly different state of tune to suit the box), usual MX5 rules of engagement will apply, i.e. with respect to rust, crash damage, hood etc.

You will get a good auto for that money, no one wants them. I have one and although it is slow off the mark if you hold the gears its quick enough on the twisty stuff. The engines are tuned for torque and have lower compression pistons in them, which also makes them a good start for FI. Plan to turbo mine over the winter.

I had no trouble selling mine at all.
I wanted a manual untill i saw this auto and it was absolute split mint.

It`s also a little more gassy but don`t let it bother you!
