Can one of the electronic experts help me please. My hazard/flasher black box is not providing a flashing signal to the bulbs.
1. What creates the pulsing signal? Is it the box itself on top of the fuel tank, or the tall relay in the fuse box? Presumably the relay should send a pulsing signal to the control box?
2. If the relay is faulty, will any tall relay with the correct pin formation do or is the TVR relay special?

I have checked for continuity between each wire at the control box and the connection at the fuse board.

The flasher unit in the fuse box makes them flash. The unit is a standard three pin flasher unit.

This has cracked the problem! When I bought a replacement fuse board and relays (to replace items damaged by a wooden plank passing through my car at 80 mph), the most knowledgeable TVR expert I know put the relays in the replacement board. Infortunately, none was the same as the broken relay which I reinspected today which has three pins (numbered 31, 49 and 49a).
Another problem was that my wiring at the fuseboard was not the same as the later revision available to download. I think that makes enough racer's excuses for one day!I have now sorted the problem; a BIG THANK YOU to jbvipercerb for pointing me in the right direction.

Glad its sorted, I know theres atleast four different types of fuse boards on these cars?! One of the fuses on ours for some reason caused the starter motor to turnover constantly when you pulled it out? eek Glad the car was in neutral when Dad was trying to work it all out/ sort it all out. smile

I found that too Ben. If that fuse fails, could it explain why some starters stay on when they shouldn't?
