His question was asking for a factual yes or no answer, the op was not intended for an open discussion.

A forum is designed for open discussions not for factual answers

So people saying google everything = no need for pistonheads are clearly talking bks

Questions are asked after googling and you fail to find what you are looking for.

So if I wanted to know whether it was possible to go from firmware 2.0 to 1.1.4 on my iphone, I would first google, if that failed I would go and ask on a forum whether it was possible.

( I do admit I could have been nicer in my first post, but I've had a lousy day)

I found that matching the new Nano to docks was best done by manufacturer. Some work and some don't. I can't recall the list of compatible makes; a chap at Comet was kind enough to share the facts with me. A rule of thumb is that the dock should be of newer design to the launch of the new Nano. I ended up buying Hitachi though I'm sure there are better options out there. I had other unusual requirements so my choice was limited.

And that is exactly why you need to be here a bit longer to see that it doesn't always work like that on PH. The mods are a lot more relaxed than on other sites and the conversation in the P&P are very varied as are the answers.

Try doing a bit of research yourself, where you may find that such questions can raise more interesting answers than can be commonly found by a google search, such as "yes it works but I had this problem..." or "Try this instead".

I have a Bose Sounddock and am less than whelmed by the sound quality.
