Anyone else have to make alternative arrangements this morning owing to the person going under the train at Oxford Circus?

I swear it's one a week at the moment. Has taking an overdose gone out of fashion?

Have a heart will you. So you were a bit delayed this morning. Someone just died because they couldn't continue with their life. Ever felt like that yourself?

Have a bit of compassion for others.

If I ever felt that way, why would I get out of bed, get into my car, park it, get onto a train, get to Oxford Circus THEN throw myself under. In rush hour.

I don't have any compassion from people that go THAT far to kill themselves.

I think people committing suicide should at least have decency to do it on their own, muppets throwing themselves under trains are destroying the lives of other people who will feel guilt for their deaths frown

I wonder if this one gets pulled or does that only happen if people seem to know the perp?

I agree, he was probably pretty miserable to bring himself to do that. Having said that though, when the train hit him he was probably chuffed to bits.

feel sorry for the driver who has to watch the muppet on the tracks, some of them are badly affected knowing they have killed someone, plenty of ways to kill yourself that does not involve other people, guess he took the coward's way out ?

Wherever you do it someone will have to clean you up.

The point is that someone who is in such a state of mind is not usually thinking rationally or in everyone else's best interests. You have to be particularly low to actually go through with suicide.

At the point it happens I doubt anyone can be said to be rational in their thoughts.

Perp????

Anyway, I really don't understand the OP? Last week I made alternative travel arrangements due to a body on the Northern Line.

Pushed or jumped? I wasn't there so I don't know.

Very sad, either way.

I agree that there will always be someone that has to clear it up, but if you did it in the privacy of your own home at least members of the public won't have to see it.

Why?
The idiot has wasted the valuable time of the emergency services and inconvenienced many commuters, not to mention the affect his selfish behaviour will have on the poor driver.

If you're going to top yourself - please do it somewhere out of the way...like a noose tied to a tree in the woods or something.

Like I say people are hardly rational when they do this. Public or private all I asked was to have some compassion that someone felt bad enough to do this.

There but for the grace of god etc.

This attitude is what's wrong with society today. Me, me me. So some people have been mildly inconvenienced, so what? In the grand scheme of things it really doesn't matter. Some poor sod's life has gone so badly wrong they no longer felt they could cope and decided, probably in a snap to end it all. That really sucks. The person was someone's father, son, daughter etc. and tonight the rest of the family will be distraught looking for answers as to why it happened and how could they have helped.

You're late, it really really doesn't matter if you're honest, does it. If being a bit late for work matters that much you should have a serious inward look at your priorities IMO.

The other thing is, the person commiting suicide doesnt realise that other people are going to see a right mess, which could scare them for life.

Valid point.

However.

It's Monday am in the P&P... everyone will have just watched GMTV and read the headlines of their Daily Mail.

Compassion is under the train with the jumpee/pushee (undoubtedly an aids ridden immigrant).

I never think badly of people that take their own life as it cannot be an easy way out, however, it should be illegal to throw yourself under a train as it does cause a serious inconvenience. Perhaps fines on the family would make people think twice about doing it this way (and motorway bridges)
I doubt that would help, if the suicidal person cared about who they'd hurt then surely they wouldn't throw themselves under a train.

Thought it was quite funny. Anyway drivers can go sick for up to a year and get paid for it, result!
