BBCtv F1 Introduction theme for 2009.

Music is right, just needs some really nice footage tying together.

The current F1 ITV stuff is terrible, it's all James Bond glitzy crap, which is nothing to do with F1 at all really.

It would be fun to see the older footage, with the old music for the first race- a sort of "welcome back", mansell losing his tyre at Adelade etc etc.

I have a horrible suspicion that they will give it to someone very young and "creative", who hasent seeen any f1, nevermind f1 from a long time ago.

Perhaps as a one off to start the first show using BBC archive footage, then with similar shorter video of all the past champions in action on screen (both old & new) with the protagonists from the current season and different intro music like the Chain over the top.

Agreed It would be like changing the intro to MotD or Cricket.

The ITV titles were a bit arty-farty but I liked the Moby theme tune.

Agreed that the latter part of The Chain where it kicks off with the guitar solo is the ultimate. I swear if the BBC used this, the first time it comes on next season, the hairs will stand up on the back of my neck. Surely that's what it's about...

I share your concern, especially as the BBC seem obsessed with meddling with established formats and making them "cool" for the Yoof.

Thought the current one (which sucks imo) was done by moby. Cant use youtube here so will see what one you posted later.

Love the chain - maybe it is the obvious choice. Half of me thinks it belongs in a golden era.

Lets all agree that the worlds worst scenario would be for a covered or remixed version of the chain - that cannot HAPPEN!!
