Hi all,i'm looking for the 6(?)pin electrical connector plug that connects the relevant part of the loom to the rear light bulb holder plate.I've tried the usual breakers and also my local Vauxhall dealer but no joy.Can anybody help with this, please?
Cheers,Mike

hehe,no,that definately wasn't the cause of it.You'd think these damn connectors would be pretty easy to get hold of,but the scrappies just dont get Cavaliers in very often any more, and even if they did, they wouldn't put that part on the shelf,so only a small window of oppertunity would be there to get one!smash

I've also seen a variant that has pins, so yu can plug two rows together for easy in/out.

Thanks for the replies. It's a Vauxhall only par,so VWP dont do it.I'd like to get the proper plug and do it right to be honest. At the moment it has female blade terminals connected to the base by lifting the contact strips clear of the base itself. It looks crap, and isn't exactly neat or practical, and the connections arent good either rolleyes

Could you get the pins from VWP & rebuild into the housing?

Try the Griff scrappers then Mike, they shouldn't cost much?

It's the kind of part that might have been used on several models over time.

Why go to the expense of retooling if you don't need to?

I would take the bulb holder and a photo of the old plug down the breakers.

Take a look around later Vauxhalls. You may get lucky.

If anyone else owns a different model Vauxhall, perhaps they could take a look too.

There should be loads of these knocking around as I guess few people would take the connector, just the lamp unit and lens.
Not many breakers by you I guess though Mike.

Theres a couple of breakers by us,but on the rare occasion they get a cav in,nowadays, they just stip of what they want and ditch the rest.As you say, they never keep the connectors, just the lamp units and bulb holders.

When I bought my lamp units (including bulb holders) I asked it they could cut 6 inches down the cable so making it easier to cut into existing if needed and you get the connector too. The connector is usually good as its a tad drier in the Cav boot compared with the Griff.
Bought mine off e-bay - £5 each side including bulbs holder, connector and cable. Unsmoked though.
