My Eldest has just text me to ask "What is long and thin, all the colours of the rainbow and can eat 40 sheep?"

Not wanting to disprove his belief that his Dad knows everything, can anyone help me solve it please?

Thanks

I think they're like kettles - they won't do what you want them to when watched.

A wooly scarf! As long as you're willing to accept 'eat 40 sheep' in a metaphorical sense? scratchchin

Nope, he has one without a SIM card for pretending but uses his Mothers when he wants to text me. I'm old fashioned, it'll be a long time before he gets one and even then only for safety reasons.

Hmm, i don't know of a living creature that can eat 40 sheep, perhaps over a period of time but certainly not at once.
This would suggest the answer is not a living thing, but the question states 'eat' therefore the answer must be alive?
Long and thin but can eat 40 sheep, it can't be living. Sorry i'm thinking aloud.

Are you sure this is not a riddle, but a joke?

That's crap. Even taking into account riddles usually being a bit obscure in their references, they are usually at least clever with the obscurity. Not just crap. Tell your son to inform the askee of the riddle it's crap.

I think you'll find that my 'Ball of wool' answer a much better answer considering the 'eats 40 shhep' was metaphorical. Rugs are not long and thin.

Tell your son that he is wrong and send him to bed with no supper. After a good slipper thrashing.

Help me maintain relationship status.

Other half wants to see fireworks display this evening (not in that way, i'd be lucky!) I tell her to go home after work and get some rest (she has been doing long hours)...

now she is ignoring me - am I in the dog house? If so why? And is it my fault?

Cure: Should I visit a strip joint... wink
